00pm Summary of Job Duties:
At Community LIFE, our Medical Records position is called Health Information Specialist.
The Health Information Specialist provides the technical, organizational and clerical skills necessary to efficiently and effectively maintain participant medical record documentation in accordance with state and federal licensing requirements, ensuring confidentiality of all participant medical information.
Required Education:
High School graduate or equivalent with medical records/health information training preferred.
Required
Experience:
Minimum of 2 - 3 years of medical records or clerical health care office experience.
Document Imaging/Scanning experience is preferred.
Required Skills & Abilities:
Computer skills- Microsoft Excel data entry Ability to plan and organize effectively.
Ability to interact effectively and professionally with participants, families and facility staff.
Ability to communicate effectively via telephone, verbally and in writing.
Basic knowledge of medical terminology Ability to work independently and be self-directed.
Good problem solving skills.
Must have a compassionate and empathetic attitude for the frail older adults.
Ability to operate office equipment.
